I enter the small, semi-lit room
and approach the old wooden gate,
kneeling down ever so quietly....
the sweet smell of the ever burning incense
enters, like breath itself, into my Heart...
I can hear the priests in the hall next door,
chanting softly the sacred words of devotion
to the Beloved...
The smooth coolness of the tile floor touches
my forehead as I bow...
Immersed in this eternal blessed
moment of devotion...
Jai Bhagavan... Jai Bhagavan...
floats softly through the air...
it is he.... who brought me Home...

The Heart… can only be Present…
It watches as the play of lives float by…
The seeming good, the seeming bad… are all the same to this Heart…
It holds everything as it rises… and disappears again…
in the vastness of LOVE…
It is always, forever Present….
This Heart is our True Nature…
It is Who we Are…

Friend, you are Moses. I the wooden
Other times, a dragon earth-energy.
I give back to you.
I have seen your unseeable beauty
"Long life to eyes" says my heart now over
search the turning sky.
No bread in the basket, no money;
with your light shining on the ruin.
Crushed in grief's mortar,
for other eyes.
What is the soul? Half a leaf.
I am not the one speaking here. Even so,
I'll stop. Anything anyone else says is your voice.

Take us down to the river!
The face of peace, the sun itself.
No more the slippery cloudlike moon.
Give us one clear morning after another
and the one whose work remains unfinished,
who is our work as we diminish...
idle, though occupied,
empty, and open.

Perceiving that all five skandhas are empty saves all beings from suffering.
Form does not differ from emptiness,
emptiness does not differ from form.
Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.
No appearing, no disappearing.
No taint, no purity.
No increase, no decrease.
All dharmas are marked with emptiness.
No cognition—no attainment.
Unexcelled perfect enlightenment—anuttara samyak sambodhi.
Gate, gate, paragate, parasamgate, bodhi svaha!

The hurt you embrace becomes joy.
A silkworm eating leaves makes a cacoon.
Each of us weaves a chamber of leaves and sticks.
Silkworms begin to truly exist
as they disappear inside that room.
Without legs, we fly.
When I stop speaking, this poem will close,

My time away...
was lovely... intense... back breaking... renewing... and amazing...
We meditated for at least 10 hrs each day... up at 4am... in bed by 9:30pm...
everything in between was meditation,
with a little food and quick naps in between...
Hard to go into in words... the meditation style itself can be both grueling and amazing...
At the end of the 10 days... after not speaking or even eye contact with anyone... we began to speak and share a little... it felt like coming out of the womb... everything is so new... raw and vulnerable... and you can feel... everything... everything... no separation... the energy in the air, in the trees, the sky...
There is a sadness that it is rising today as I speak of this... what blessings to go inside
and to be cared for in that way... and a bit of a resistance to returning...
(the mind is so funny... resistance to go... resistance to return...)
What I can say about what is happening now... as I was telling Dan... it's the subtleness...
It is in the subtleness where everything is truly met... nothing is pushed away...
nothing grabbed for... just met...
And there is an interesting sense of relief as the "memory" seems to recall
the grabbing and the pushing... and how lovely it is instead...
just to meet what is... as it is...
The mind weaves it patterns and flavors with rainbow colors... and what is seen is so captivating... such a display... and intent to entertain... and yet the subtleness... this is the flavor that lasts... and will always... continue to become more and more subtle...
beyond the beyond of the beyond...
and beyond that...
Gate, Gate... Para Gate... Para Sum Gate... Bodhi Svaha...
What a blessed life to be offered such gifts... we are all so blessed...
Om Shanti... and lots and lots of LOVE!

When I rest in my origin
I am the unmoving cause of all movement.
With no will nor intention of my own
all things move forth from my own being and
express my unspeakable and unknowable self.
Although I never move away
from my unmovable nature
all movement is my own.
all manifestation in all the worlds are
expressions of my infinite creative potential.
I am always at rest
and wildly dreaming this moment
into and out of existence.
